Application of rehabilitation nursing to stroke patients with severe swal owing dysfunction

Abstract:Objective:To discuss the effect of rehabilitation nursing in stroke patients with severe swallowing dysfunction. Methods:The individualized intervention scheme was developed for 40 stroke patients with severe swallowing dysfunction,including swallowing function evaluation,safe tube feeding,TV fluoroscopy( VFSS),the individualized swallowing function training and ingesting training and psycholog-ical care. Results:After being given individualized rehabilitation nursing,36 patients could have oral ingestion and fully recovered,account-ing for 90%;4 patients carried gastric tube when discharged,accounting for 10%;3 patients suffered from aspiration pneumonia,account-ing for 7. 5%. Conclusion:The targeted swallowing function training for stroke patients with severe swallowing dysfunction during indwelling gastric tube can effectively prevent mis-aspiration,shorten the time of indwelling gastric tube,accelerate the recovery of swallowing func-tion and promote the rehabilitation of the patients.
