Abstract:Objective:To investigate the application effect of Orem self-care theory in elderly patients with fracture of femoral neck. Methods:140 elderly patients with fracture of femoral neck treated in our hospital were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(70 cases in each group). The routine nursing care was taken in the control group and the Orem self-care theory was addi-tionally adopted in the observation group. The intraoperative stress, postoperative joint function and negative emotions of the patients were compared between the two groups. Results:The level of patientˊs epinephrine, norepinephrine, rennin and angiotensin and the scores of HA-MA,HAMD,SAS,SDS and NRS were lower in the observation group than the control group(P〈0. 05);Harris and HSS scores of joint function were higher in the observation group than those in the control group(P〈0. 05). Conclusion:Implementation of nursing interven-tion in the perioperative period in the light of Orem self-care theory is conducive to the control of intraoperative stress, improvement of joint function and alleviation of the negative sentiment of the elderly patients with fracture of femoral neck.
