Abstract:Objective:To explore the application effect of the modified method of bilateral pudendal nerve block anesthesia in child-birth. Methods:313 hospitalized primiparas were randomly divided into the experimental group( n =163 )and the control group( n =150). The bilateral pudendal nerve block anesthesia combined with local perineal anesthesia was adopted and perineum was sutured with-out anesthesia in the experimental group;the traditional pudendal nerve anesthesia combined with local perineal anesthesia was used and the gauze soaked with anesthetic was applied to the wound before perineum was sutured. The episiotomy rate, the degree of perineal lacera-tion,analgesic effect and compliance of pregnant women were compared between the two groups. Results:The episiotomy rate was signifi-cantly lower in the experimental group than the control group(P〈0. 01);the degree of perineal laceration was lighter, analgesic effect and compliance of pregnant women were better in the experimental group than the control group(P〈0. 05). Conclusion:The modified method of bilateral pudendal nerve block anesthesia used for vaginal delivery can reduce the rate of maternal perineal laceration, relieve pain and improve the maternal compliance and satisfaction.
