Effect of postoperative cognitive behavior intervention on the understanding of health knowledge and satisfaction of patients with ostomy for rectal cancer

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of postoperative cognitive behavior intervention on patients with ostomy for rectal cancer. Methods:90 patients with rectal cancer treated in our hospital were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(45 cases in each group). The routine nursing care was taken after operation in the control group;the postoperative cognitive behavior interven-tion was adopted in the observation group. The nursing effects were compared between the two groups. Results:The level of health knowl-edge,self concept,self responsibility and self care skills of the patients were better in the observation group than those in the control group, the degree of anxiety and depression of the patients was significantly lower and satisfaction rate was higher in the observation group than the control group(P﹤0. 05). Conclusion:The cognitive behavior intervention focuses on changing patient′s cognitive style,and it can increase the health knowledge of patients with ostomy for rectal cancer and improve their satisfaction.
