Study on the correIation between psychoIogicaI status and Iiving quaIity in patients with chronic cough

Abstract:Objective:To study the relationship between psychological status and living quality in patients with chronic cough. Methods:159 outpatients with chronic cough were divided into two groups. 103 outpatients who had a cough during the day were taken as the daytime group and other 56 outpatients who had a cough at night were taken as the nocturnal group,at the same time 112 healthy people were taken as the control group. The SAS,SDS and SF-36 scale were used to make an assessment of the patients and analyze the relationship between anxiety,depression state and quality of life of the patients with chronic cough according to the changes of integral data in the three groups. Results:The depression and anxiety of the patients was worse in the nocturnal group than the control group(P﹤0. 05);the differences in the comparison of the physiological state,vitality and mental health were statistically significant between the nocturnal group and the day-time group(P﹤0. 05). Conclusion:The anxiety and depression condition of the patients who have a cough at night affects the living quali-ty of patients with chronic cough and the psychological intervention is necessary during medication.
