AppIication of heaIth education to parents of pediatric patients with endocardiaI fibroeIastosis

Abstract：Objective:To explore the application of health education to parents of pediatric patients with endocardial fibroelastosis ( EFE)and study its impact on the treatment compliance and anxiety state of the parents and on nursing satisfaction. Methods:56 children patients with EFE treated in recent 10 years were randomly divided into the control group(n=24)and the observation group(n=32). The children patients in the control group were given routine nursing intervention;the extra proper health education was provided for the parents besides routine nursing intervention on the children patients in the observation group. The treatment compliance and anxiety state of the parents and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results:After health education,the parents’awareness rate of prognosis and nursing measures significantly increased,the treatment compliance improved and anxiety state evidently alleviated in the ob-servation group(P﹤0. 05);the rate of parents satisfaction with nursing care was significantly higher in the observation group than the con-trol group(P﹤0. 05). Conclusion:The appropriate health education for parents of children patients with EFE can enhance their treatment compliance,relieve anxiety and improve their satisfaction with nursing service.
