Investigation and analysis of the relationship between the nurse's caring ability and patients' satisfaction in the department of cardiology of Grade Ⅲ-A general hospitals

Abstract:Objective:To investigate and analyze the relationship between the nurse's caring ability and patients' satisfaction in the de-partment of cardiology of GradeⅢ-A general hospitals. Methods:375 nurses,255 patients and 179 family members were randomly select-ed from the department of cardiology of 15 GradeⅢ-A general hospitals and they were investigated by using evaluation scale of nurse's caring ability and questionnaire on nursing satisfaction. Results:There were statistically significant differences in the comparison of the scores of cognition,courage and patience of the nurses in different nursing age(P﹤0. 01);the differences in the comparison of the scores of courage and patience of the nurses with different professional title were statistically significant(P﹤0. 01);the nurse's caring ability was positively correlated with nursing satisfaction(r=0. 401,P﹤0. 01);the each dimension of the nurse's caring ability had the predictable functions to the overall nursing satisfaction(R2 = 0. 336,P﹤0. 01). Conclusion:The nurse's caring ability in the department of cardiology can improve patient's satisfaction with nursing care and the emphasis should be on improving nurse's caring ability.
