Effect of the modified natural delivery mode on delivery outcome of primipara

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of the modified natural delivery mode on delivery outcome of primipara. Methods:100 pri-mipara who had delivery in our department from June to December 2012 were taken as the conventional group,awaiting and having delivery in accordance with the conventional method in this group;other 105 primipara who had delivery in our department from January to August 2013 were taken as the modified group and the modified natural delivery mode was adopted in this group. The delivery outcome of the pri-mipara was compared between the two groups. Results:The natural delivery rate was higher in the modified group than the conventional group;the episiotomy rate,the times of treatment by doctors,the number of newborn transferred to NICU within one week after childbirth were lower and fewer in the modified group than the conventional group(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion:The modified natural delivery mode can better protect the maternal and child health and midwives can fully provide professional midwifery service for pregnant women in low risk.
