Abstract:Objective:To investigate the application effect of single step dilatational tracheostomy( SSDT)and nursing methods in the treatment of critically ill patients in ICU. Methods:64 ICU patients who required tracheotomy for mechanical ventilation were randomly di-vided into the control group and the observation group(32 cases in each group). The tracheotomy was performed in the control group and SSDT was adopted in the observation group. The operation procedure, the change of vital signs and postoperative complications were com-pared between the two groups. Results:There were statistically significant differences in the comparison of the operation procedure, the change of vital signs and postoperative complications between the two groups(P ﹤ 0. 05);the total incidence of incision hemorrhage and incision overflow of sputum was lower in the observation group than the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion:SSDT has the advantages of little trauma, short operation time and fewer complications.
