Abstract:Objective:Toinvestigatetheeffectofuncontrolledbodypositionadoptedinparturientduringthesecondstageoflaboronthe outcomes of delivery. Methods:178 hospitalized primiparas in our hospital were randomly divided into the observation group(n=88)and the control group(n=90). The primiparas in the observation group took the uncontrolled body position during the second stage of labor and the primiparas in the control group took routine supine lithotomy position, the duration of the second stage of labor, the postpartum hemor-rhage rate, the degree of postpartum comfort and the incidence of neonatal asphyxia were compared between the two groups. Results:Com-pared with the control group, the duration of the second stage of labor was significantly shortened, maternal postpartum discomfort and the in-cidence of neonatal asphyxia were significantly decreased in the observation group(P﹤0. 05);although the postpartum hemorrhage rate de-creased,however the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion:Application of the uncontrolled body position during the second stage of labor can effectively shorten the birth process, reduce the incidence of neonatal asphyxia and improve maternal postpartum comfort.
