Abstract:Objective:ToinvestigatetheapplicationeffectofnursingmodelinthelightofPeplau’stheoryofinterpersonalrelationsin nurse-patient communication in the emergency department. Methods:100 patients were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(50 cases in each group). The patients in the control group were given routine nursing care and the patients in the obser-vation group were provided nursing intervention according to Peplau’s theory of interpersonal relations. The patients' satisfaction with nurs-ing care,life quality and prognosis were compared between the two groups. Results:The satisfaction rate of nursing service,Barthel index and the success rate of rescue were higher in the observation group than the control group(P﹤0. 05);the incidence of adverse outcomes was lower in the observation group than the control group(P﹤0. 05). Conclusion:The nursing model in the light of Peplau’s theory of in-terpersonal relations can effectively improve the quality of life and the prognosis of the patients.
