InfIuence of occupationaI injury on professionaI identity of nursing staff

Abstract:Objective:Toexploretheinfluenceofoccupationalinjuryonprofessionalidentityofnursingstaffinordertoprovideatheo-retical reference for promoting the physical and mental health of nursing staff and improving their job satisfaction. Methods:600 nurses se-lected from several hospitals in different types were taken as the object of study. 300 nurses who had different occupational injury were taken as the observation group and other 300 nurses who were not injured were taken as the control group. They were assessed by using pro-fessional identity scale in Chinese version and the professional identity of the nurses was compared between the two groups. Results:The professional identity was significantly poorer in the observation group than the control group(P﹤0. 05,P﹤0. 01). Conclusion:The profes-sional identity of nursing staff is influenced by many factors and the occupational safety culture should be enhanced fundamentally so as to improve their professional identity.
