Effect of acupuncture therapy combined with nursing intervention of TCM on patients with faciaI paraIysis due to stagnation of Iiver

Abstract:Objective:TostudytheeffectofacupuncturetherapycombinedwithnursinginterventionofTCMonpatientswithfacialpa-ralysis due to stagnation of liver. Methods:57 patients who met the inclusion criteria of peripheral facial paralysis caused by stagnation of liver were teated with staging acupuncture therapy,at the same time nursing staff implemented comprehensive nursing intervention,such as acupressure,emotional counseling and health education. The patients were scored by using H-B,SDS and SAS,and the facial blood perfu-sion was detected and compared before and after treatment. Results:The scores of H-B,SDS and SAS were significantly decreased after treatment compared with those before treatment(P﹤0. 01,P﹤0. 05);the affected facial blood perfusion increased after treatment com-pared with that before treatment(P﹤0. 05);13 cases were cured,12 cases improved,25 cases effective,7 cases ineffective,the total effec-tive rate was 87. 72%. Conclusion:The acupuncture therapy combined with nursing intervention can effectively relieve anxiety and depres-sion of the patients and promote the circulation of Qi and blood so as to alleviate the symptoms of facial paralysis.
