Application of the Peplau’s interpersonal relationships model to the health education in patients with lung cancer

Abstract：Objective:To explore the approach and effect of application of the Peplau′s interpersonal relationships model in the health education in patients with lung cancer. Methods:80 patients with lung cancer were randomly divided into the observation group and the con-trol group(40 cases in each group). The patients in the control group received routine health education and the Peplau′s interpersonal re-lationships model was adopted to conduct health education in the observation group. The quality of life of the patients and the scores of SAS and SDS were compared between the two groups. Results:The quality of life of the patients was better in the observation group than the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05);the scores of SAS and SDS were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group after treat-ment(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion:Application of the Peplau′s interpersonal relationships model in the health education can improve the quali-ty of life and the psychological state of the patients with lung cancer.
