Application of nursing intervention combined with external application of Chinese medicine in the treatment of intertrochanteric fracture of femur in elderly patients

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of nursing intervention combined with external application of Chinese medicine in the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures of femur in elderly patients. Methods:98 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures of femur were randomly divided into the observation group(n = 59)and the control group(n = 39). The routine nursing care was taken in the con-trol group and nursing intervention combined with external application of Chinese medicine was given to the patients in the observation group. The quality of life and wound healing of the patients and the patient satisfaction with the quality of nursing service were compared between the two groups. Results:The score of life quality of the patients was higher in the observation group than the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05);the class A healing rate was higher in the observation group than the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05);the patient satisfaction rate was higher in the observation group than the control group(P ﹤ 0. 01). Conclusion:The nursing intervention combined with external application of Chi-nese medicine can effectively improve the quality of life of patients,relieve pain,promote wound healing,shorten hospitalization time and improve patient satisfaction in the treatment of intertrochanteric fracture of femur in elderly patients.
