Extended and individualized nursing care for 118 elderly patients with essential hypertension

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the application effect of the extended and individualized nursing care for elderly patients with es -sential hypertension ( EH) .Methods:236 elderly patients with EH were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group (118 cases in each group).In the observation group,the extended and individualized nursing intervention was provided for the patients within 12 months after discharge;the patients in the control group were not given any nursing intervention .Results:After 12 months,the control rate of blood pressure was significantly higher in the observation group than the control group (P<0.05);the patient's grasp of hy-pertension-related knowledge and health behavior was better in the observation group than the control group ( P<0.05);the scores of treatment compliance of the patients were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group in 6 and 12 months after dis-charge (P<0.05).Conclusion:The extended and individualized nursing care can effectively control blood pressure of elderly patients with EH and can help them change the bad habits and improve treatment compliance as well .
