Investigation on the implementation of disinfection and isolation measures in the patients infected with bacteria producing ESBLs

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the implementation status of disinfection and isolation measures in the patients infected with bacte -ria producing extended spectrum beta lactamases (ESBLs).Methods:The on-the-spot examination combined with secret inquiry were a-dopted to make an investigation on the implementation status of disinfection and isolation measures in 50 patients infected with bacteria producing ESBLs according to the items of questionnaire .The medical staff was divided into internal medicine group and surgical group , daytime group and night group according to the different departments and the different duties .Results:The percent of pass of the implemen-tation of disinfection and isolation measures by medical staff was 49.42%and the difference in the comparison of the qualified rate of dis-infection and isolation was statistically significant between the surgical group and the internal medicine group ( P<0.05,P<0.01);the difference in the comparison of the qualified rate in the implementation of the special usage of medical articles ,environmental disinfection , personnel constrains ,usage of protective articles and hand hygiene for health was statistically significant between the daytime group and the night group (P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion:Strengthening the implementation of disinfection and isolation measures in the surgical de -partment and the night group is one of effective methods in the prevention of nosocomial transmission of bacteria producing ESBLs .
