Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of clinical path in health education for patients with first -episode cerebral infarction . Methods:100 patients with first-episode cerebral infarction were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group (50 cases in each group ) .The health education path was applied to implement intervention on the patients in the experimental group and the conventional health education method was used in the control group .The patient's awareness rate of disease -related knowledge ,the degree of neural function defect ,the hospitalization rates of recurrent cases ,ability of ADL of the patients and hospitalization days were compared between the two groups before and after health education .Results:The score of Barthel index increased at discharge in both groups and the score of Barthel index was significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group (P<0.05);the improvement of neural function defect was better in the experimental group than the control group (P<0.05).After the education, the patient's awareness rate of disease-related knowledge was significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group ( P<0.05);the hospitalization rates of recurrent cases were significantly lower in the experimental group than the control group within 6 months after discharge ( P<0.05);the hospitalization days were fewer in the experimental group than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Implementation of health educa-tion path can improve the score of Barthel index and the neural function defect of the patients ;it can also promote the rehabilitation of limb function and enhance the ability of ADL of the patients ,shorten the hospitalization time and reduce the economic burden of their families .
