Application of clinical pathway management to postoperative pain of orthopedic patients

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of clinical pathway management in postoperative pain of orthopedic patients.Methods:180 postoperative orthopedic patients were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group(90 cases in each group) .The pa-tients in the control group were given routine nursing care and the patients in the intervention group were provided nursing interventions in the light of clinical pathway management.The score of postoperative pain,the satisfaction with pain control and the value of sleep efficiency were compared between the two groups.Results:The score of pain one day before operation,on the day of operation and on the 1st,2nd and 3rd day after operation was better in the intervention group than the control group( P<0.05,P<0.01);the satisfaction with pain control on the day of operation and on the 1st and 3rd day after operation was better in the intervention group than the control group( P<0.01);the value of sleep efficiency on the 1st and 2nd day after operation was obviously superior in the intervention group to the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:In the clinical pathway management,nursing intervention can relieve the postoperative pain and improve sleep effi-ciency and comfort of orthopedic patients and can promote their rehabilitation as well.
