Effect of bird-nest type nursing intervention on low birth weight infants

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of bird -nest type nursing intervention on low birth weight infants .Methods:56 low birth weight infants were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group (28 cases in each group).The infants in the control group were given routine nursing care and the bird -nest type nursing intervention was implemented in the observation group based on rou-tine nursing care .The body growth of the infants and the incidence of complications were observed and compared between the two groups . Results:There were statistically significant differences in the comparison of the growth of weight ,head circumference and height of the in-fants between the two groups(P<0.05);the incidence of temperature fluctuations ,apnea,scleredema and feeding intolerance was lower in the observation group than the control group (P<0.05);the time of jaundice disappearance ,the time to take out baby from infant incubator and the time of body mass returning to the normal is shorter in the observation group than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Imple-mentation of the bird-nest type nursing intervention can have low birth weight infants ,in short time,return to normal body mass ,improve the nutritional intake and body resistance ,reduce the incidence of complications and alleviate the degree of pathological changes .
