Impact of nursing intervention on the discharged patients undergoing vitreous surgery for diabetic retinopathy

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of impact of nursing intervention on the discharged patients undergoing vitreous surgery for diabetic retinopathy ( DR) .Methods:86 discharged patients undergoing vitreous surgery for diabetic retinopathy were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group ( 43 cases in each group ) .The follow -up by telephone was conducted one week , half a month and each month in both groups after the patients were discharged from hospital .The follow-up included the time of follow -up, health education and the status of disease control .The comprehensive intervention was additonally implemented in the experimental group , including special cognitive ,behavioral ,psychological intervention and the intervention on family members .The follow-up lasted 15 months and the quality of life and treatment compliance of the patients and family support were compared between the two groups at the end of the follow-up.Results:The quality of life and treatment compliance of the patients and family support were significantly better in the experi -mental group than the control group (P<0.01).Conclusion:The nursing intervention is helpful to the development of good treatment com -pliance and the control of blood glucose level of the patients and to the better family support and improvement of the quality of life of the patients.
