Study on the correlation between home care behaviors and family cohesion & adaptability in children with asthma

Abstract：Objective:To study the correlation between home care behaviors and family cohesion&adaptability in children with asthma in order to provide scientific basis for carrying out research on home care intervention on children with asthma .Methods:The questionnaire of home care behaviors and FACES Ⅱ-CV were used to conduct a questionnaire survey on 67 children patients (aged from 7 to 13) trea-ted in our hospital and on their parents .Results:The home care behaviors ( except the dimension of monitoring behavior ) were significantly correlated with family cohesion and adaptability ( P<0.01);the influencing factors of home care behaviors were whether the child is the only child in the family or not and he has family history or not ,the influencing factors of family cohesion and adaptability were whether the child is the only child in the family or not .Conclusion:We should promote the family cohesion and adaptability ,encourage family members to participate in the treatment and care of children with asthma in order to enhance their behavioral competence in home care behaviors , thus the life quality of the children will be improved .
