Application of the extended nursing care to the out-of-hospital management of patients with diabetes

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the application effect of the extended nursing care in the out -of-hospital management of patients with diabetes .Methods:114 diabetic patients were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group ( 57 cases in each group) .The routine nursing care was given to the patients in the control group after they were discharged from hospital and the extended nursing care was additionally given to the patients in the observation group ,the compliance ,blood glucose level and quality of life of the pa-tients were compared between the two groups after 6 months.Results:The compliance like controlling diet ,doing proper exercise and testing blood sugar and blood pressure by themselves were superior in the observation group to the control group (P<0.05),the blood glucose lev-el and the scores of quality of life of the patients were superior in the observation group to the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:The extended nursing care can improve patient's compliance ,maintain normal blood glucose level and improve their quality of life in the out -of-hospital management of patients with diabetes .
