Abstract:The integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism(ACT)is a crucial pathway for advancing rural revitalization and building modern rural industrial systems in China. This study investigated 62 officially designated"Beautiful Leisure Villages of China"in Guangdong Province.Adopting a comparative case study approach guided by grounded theory,it systematically examined the underlying development models and implementation mechanisms of ACT integration through a three-stage coding process of in-depth interview data. The findings revealed four distinct development models:a governance-driven model for modern agricultural integration,an industry-driven model of multi-stakeholder collaboration,a culture-empowered model of rural self-governance,and a resource-driven model of regional synergy.Further analysis showed that the divergence among these models stemmed from differences in integration pathways across industrial chains, spatial functions, and stakeholder-governance structures, which were manifested as four respective mechanisms:structural,endogenous,value-based,and symbiotic integration. The study proposes a"three-dimensional analytical framework"for ACT integration that moves beyond traditional classifications based solely on leading actors. This framework deepens the theoretical understanding of rural industrial convergence and provides theoretical and practical insights for promoting the high-quality,place-based development of Beautiful Leisure Villages.
