Abstract:Grounded in Marxist rent theory, this study delved into the transformation of rural production relations driven by the collective economy's revitalization of the"three lands"(contracted,collectively-owned for business, and homestead land)in Guangdong since the launch of the"Hundreds,Thousands, and Tens of Thousands Project".From a political economy perspective and through case studies,it systematically analyzed the rent forms of these lands and examined the theoretical basis and evolutionary path of capitalized rent. The findings revealed that revitalizing the"three lands"through the collective economy is a key factor influencing smallholders'development, necessitating market-based allocation of land elements while safeguarding their interests. The collective economy holds a unique advantage in integrating smallholders with land capitalization.Accordingly, this paper proposes a modern production relations model that fosters coordinated development between smallholders and land capitalization, adapted to China's context. The research provides theoretical insights and practical references for understanding the path to socialist agricultural modernization with Chinese characteristics and for effectively integrating smallholders into modern agricultural development.
