Abstract:Agriculture is the foundation of China's founding and an important source of carbon emissions and guiding the transformation of agriculture to green and low carbon will help achieve China's carbon emission reduction goals. The new quality productivity is a green productivity, with the characteristics of high technology, high efficiency and high quality, and is essentially an advanced productive force,an important way for the high-quality development of agriculture, and a new breakthrough to guide the development of agriculture in a low-carbon direction.Based on panel data from 29 provinces in China from 2012 to 2022,this paper explores how the development of new productivity affects agricultural carbon emissions. The results show that the improvement of new quality productivity can significantly inhibit the increase of agricultural carbon emissions, and in this process, the optimization and adjustment of agricultural industrial structure and the continuous innovation of agricultural technology play a crucial part of the mediating role.Land transfer has a threshold effect, and after crossing the corresponding threshold value, land transfer has a significant positive regulating effect on the new quality productivity of agriculture and the inhibition of agricultural carbon emissions. This study provides new ideas and methods for promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of agriculture.
