Study on the characteristics, and problems and countermeasures of the current political participation of farmers, and countermeasures--Base on the Questionnaire Survey of 4794 Households from 270 Village of 31 Provinces in China

Abstract：Farmers’ political participation is a signiifcant symbol of development of democratic politics in China. Current researches on the political participation of farmers are based on the qualitative analysis of observed cases or policy texts. However, there is less of quantitative analysis according to the survey data. In this paper, we look individual farmer as a unit of analysis and to questionnaire, trying to explore farmers’ political participation in the period of transition from an empirical perspective.
