Performance Analysis of the Agricultural Subsidies in Meizhou

Abstract：We analyze the performance of the Agricultural Subsidies in Meizhou, Guangdong Province from several aspects:an overview of the local agriculture, an introduction to the subsidies, existed problems about the policy, and recommendations. According to the investigation, we ifnd that the main problems about the Agricultural Subsidies Policy are:part of the Grain Subsidy funds may not be paid to the actual working farmers;a lack of working funds;the standards of the subsidies are too low;worse departmental coordination. So, we suggest that the government should make long-term Grain Subsidy policy and establish long-acting mechanisms;subsidy funds should be given to the actual crop-growing farmers;the government should provide special funds support and encourage the farmers to achieve scale business.
