Exploration on Urbanization Development Model of Continuous Destitute Areas in Yunnan Province

Abstract:Yunnan is a province with the most poverty counties in China, the development of urbanization is underdeveloped. Based on the facts of the low level of overall economic and social development, the underdevelopment of infrastructure, social development, science, technology and culture, and industrial development, and the low capacity of self-development, this study analyze the restricting factors of urbanization development of continuous destitute areas in Yunnan province. Relying on natural resources, port resources and other advantages, we propose some new urbanization development model, such as the scenic spot tourism, resource-gathering, border trade economy, and gives relevant policy recommendations to speed up the process of urbanization of the contiguous destitute areas in Yunnan.
