Export Competitiveness Analysis of Guangdong Agricultural Products

Abstract：The analysis shows that revealed comparative advantage index of the export of Guangdong agricultural products is declining slowly; international market share is steadily increasing; and the change of competitive advantage index is not stable but showing a declined tendency. Generally, the overall international competitiveness of Guangdong agricultural products is not strong enough and the competitive edge is yet to be found. This study puts forward some measures to enhance the export competiveness of Guangdong agricultural products, which includes innovating models to promote the base construction of the quality and safety of agricultural exports; exerting comparative advantages, adjusting industrial structure so as to strengthening international competitiveness; finding and nurturing long-term, advantageous varieties, and building the brand of agricultural exports; actively expanding global market and boosting market diversification.
