Discussion on Vocational Education Promoting the Inheritance of Traditional Architectural Technology

Abstract：Despite traditional architectural technology being an indispensable part of architectural heritage,it risks dying out. The integrated teaching model of "teaching, learning and doing", which is advocated by vocational education and characterized by an emphasis on the cultivation of professional skills and practical abilities of students, corresponds to the severe training and hammering required for the inheritance of traditional architectural technology. Analysis into practical teaching has identified some strengths as well as deficiencies;in response to these deficiencies this paper has studied some vocational colleges that are teaching traditional architectural technology, with the Metropolitan Construction Engineering Department of Guangzhou City Polytechnic as the case study.
