Abstract:In recent years, there has been increasing attention on near-zero energy consumption buildings around the world. Exploration and practice in this field in China is mostly concentrated in the frigid regions and the cold regions. Areas with hot summers and cold winters are large and densely populated. The huge differences between summer and winter climates makes it difficult to meet thermal comfort requirements and, therefore, the consumption of energy is high. The development of near-zero energy building technology in these areas is worth exploring. This article discusses practical applications in specific hot summer and cold winter areas regarding:passive energy saving technology, insulation performance of the external building envelope, integrated utilization of solar energy resources, characteristics of human behavior, and passive control systems. This exploration can assist in the development of near-zero energy consumption buildings in hot summer and cold winter areas.
