A Discussion on the Guiding Approach of Progressive Renewal of Mountainous Cities in Regulatory Detailed Planning

Abstract：In complex natural and built environment Mountainous city has its own rules and methods of renewal, which must respect the current situation, combined with the terrain, inherit culture, taking the benefits into account. The progressive renewal method which has small dimension, small scale, and focusing on timing, is suitable for the management and construction in mountainous cities. Through the analysis of the difficulties and problems concerning urban renewal of mountainous city in China, put forward the general phenomenon in China such as the inconformity of conception, the invariable renewal methods, the disappointed results, the theory of economic determinism etc, then post the necessity of bringing the method of progressive renewal into mountainous city planning. Though summarizing the traits of city renewal in different stages, propose that authorizing the regulatory detailed planning is an important part, and come up with several methods of rigid and flexible index control,three-dimensional construction on road traffic, virtual and actual combination on style control, and rounded renewal timing.
