Analysis of the Beam Frame Structural Features of Ming Dynasty Official Residences in Jinxi Country

Abstract:On the basis of site investigations, surveying and mapping results of the five official residences of Ming Dynasty in Jinxi country, Jiangxi province, by comparing and contrasting the features of beam frame structures and the joints form characteristics, the paper made an analysis of the general ways of construction and summed up the structural features of those official residences, which further discussed the interpretation of central hall structures that recorded in YingzaoFashi(Treatise on Architectural Methods or State Building Standards)in traditional buildings in both Jiangxi province areas and South China.
