The Chronological Characteristics of the Column Bases in Guangfu Cultural Region

Abstract：The column base in Guangfu traditional architectures went through a process which has a clear chronological characteristic from imitating the northern official style to the innovation by the local culture. The chronological characteristic is also closely related to the location within a building as well as the material that they were made of. This paper classified the distinguished styles of the column base and concluded the chronological characteristic for each of them. This research is not only helpful for us to understand the traditional architectures of Guangfu culture region, but also a complementary part of the regional architecture study in China.
