The Dynamic Organic Renewal of Hakka's Walled-villages: A Case Study on Louzai Village in Yingde City, Guangdong

Abstract:According to the case study of Louzai village, this paper conducts a research on the typology, main characteristics and spatial replacement conditions of Hakka's walled-villages. It tries to illuminate the dynamic organic renewal strategies and methods, based on history context, industry development and living life requirements. It takes advantage of industrial linkage and then ask for the coordination of both spatial and industrial planning. To take a modular design method in the dynamic renewal practice makes it possible to realize the rational industry management and livable human settlement environment. By doing so, it will achieve sustainability in economic, social and spatial morphologies comprehensively.
