Review on Research Progress of Urban Fringe Villages in Pearl River Delta Region

Abstract：During the New-type Urbanization process, the development of urban fringe villages in Pearl River Delta region attracts more and more attention. Based on the analysis of domestic research literatures on urban fringe vil ages in the Pearl River Delta region and inspections of the urban fringe vil age concept, this paper systematical y summarizes former researches from these five aspects: vil age characteristics, motive mechanism of development and evolution, developing problems, renovation modes, and public spaces. Finally, this paper prospects the future of researches in this field.
