Study on the Formation Mechanism and Spatial Regularity of the Circle-core Structure Mode in Urban Central District

Abstract：The circle-core structure mode refers to the phenomenon of a spatial concentration structure that widely exists in urban central districts of Chinese megacities. It consists of the main and sub cores of public facilities, their diffusion areas,and the connections among them. Based on the research of typical urban central districts in China,this article analyzes the formation mechanism of the circle-core structure mode, suggesting that it originated from the spatial superimposition of the concentration and separation effects of urban service industry. Since the circle-core structure mode takes into account both the centrality of urban centers and peripherality of featured functions, it could promote the spatial and functional inter-complementation among multiple cores of the urban central districts. Based on these analyses, this article proposed the spatial regularity of the circle-core structure mode.
