Abstract：Based on the renovation design of a riverside traditional Brick-Timber house at Zhoutie Town, Yixing City, this paper has mainly illustrated how renovation achieves an integrated functional optimization and performance improvement from the following process: function programming, structure reinforcement, thermal environment improvement, luminous environment design and architecture style control. By the utility of local techniques and materials as wel, the author has explored a method of sustainable renovation on existing Brick-Timber houses in Jiangnan Region.
