Abstract：The article uses dictate form, on the basis of the professor’s memory, and talk with him at the background of different period to understand how Prof. Lu Yuanding has engaged in the research of Chinese traditional residence, and how to expand the research team and promote the form of a special area objectively under the arduous efforts of him and his colleagues. Meanwhile, it can be known about‘historic background which reflects the research environment of each period.
