Abstract：Based on the complex relationship between land use planning and transportation planning, the paper tried to analyze the mutual adaptability of land use planning and transportation planning under a quantitative research framework. City area in Changsha had been used as an case to demonstrate the appropriate improvement measurement in planning, and to discuss the possibility that the back-stepping approach can be used in traffic facility planning to archive an appropriate FAR, and to facilitate the integrative development between land use planning and transportation planning.
