Architectural Analysis of Dacheng Hall in Shaoguan Wen Temple

Abstract：Based on the case study of Dacheng Hall in Shaoguan Wen Temple, the paper focused on the historical research of the hall, and the analysis of building type and scale. The design principles of temple architecture in north area of Guangdong had been discussed. The exceptional column support mode at upper eave at Dacheng Hall had been found out, as well as the building construction under the eaves with common flower inserting arch in this area. The characteristics of traditional architecture in the north region of Guangdong Province could be explicated.
