The Significance of Value Evaluation in the Planning of Historic and Cultural Towns and Villages

Abstract：Based on the analysis of the current rural planning,the significance of analyzing and evaluating the cultural value is indicated in this paper. In the planning of the town and vilage, building own unique cultural characteristics system could guide the future planning strategy and this cultural uniqueness has a remarkable impact on enriching the culture of town and village, cultivating residents' sense of belonging, promoting and inheriting local humanity. Although some existing plans highlight the material form and ignore the cultural value, this paper stands the perspectives of history, Ethnic culture, construction technology and ecology, pointing out that it should increase the proportion of cultural value during town and vilage analysis and evaluation to inherit the culture and promote the sustainable development.
