Strategic Thinking on Layout pattern of Park and Ride Facilities in GuangZhou

Abstract：Park and ride facilities are the effective medium to guide the rational car use, to optimize the traffic trip structure, to ease the traffic congestion in central area and to reduce the pollution. This paper summarized the concept and classification of P&R, made an overal investigation on the general development of P&R facilities in GuangZhou based on the international experiences. Based on the research of city spatial structure, population and employment distribution, road network and rail transit network of GuangZhou, a strategic layout pattern of P&R Facilities has been proposed.
