Abstract:aBsTRacT Based on the research of Lingnan school of architecture realism, this paper compares the climate adaptation characteristics of traditional Lingnan architecture with the new practices. Facing the demand of economical architectural design, from the perspectives of space and form, this paper suggests a spatial strategy to guide energy saving behavior. Typical traditional and modern Lingnan architectures are analyzed and evaluated on their functional and climate adaptations, in order to respect traditional culture and regional characteristics, while meeting the current spatial requirements. This paper further uses simulation method to verify the feasibility.
