Preservation or Deconstruction:A Reconsideration of Historical District Preservation

Abstract：aBsTRacT Based on the discussion of different repair methods of historical jugs, the article intends to present an argument on the choices that architects can make when new construction confronting historical preservation. Using a hypothetical design of Suzhou Museum as a case-study, under the topic of vernacular architecture preservation, the research discusses the application of spatial sequence of traditional Chinese garden.
