The Broadcasting and Influence of Urban Planning Theories Based on the Analysis on Publications in Modern China

Abstract：Based on the analysis on opinions in the professional magazines and books, also the practices on city planning, this paper summarizes the three most popular theories in the Republic of China--Zon, Garden City and Theory of Organic Decentralization. It points out that the theory mixed with Zone and Garden City had profound influence on the practices on city planning. While after the War of Resistance Against Japan began, theory of Organic Decentralization was discussed very frequently by the experts and officials. Eventual y it was designated to be the guiding ideology of building and rebuilding cities after the war.
