The Philosophic Thinking for the Urban Development Concept in China

Abstract：The thesis studies the relationship between the western classic urban development theory and the reality of Chinese urban development in the last 30 years from a philosophic aspect. It believes that the diversity of urban development patterns requires diverse urban development theories. The study reveals the conflict between western classic urban theories and the reality of Chinese city development. China now cal s for new urbanization theories in order to guide its rapid urban development.
