The Conservation and Utilization of Traditional Volcanic Villages in Hainan:Take Boxue Village in Haikou as Example

Abstract:There are many characteristic traditional volcanic villages still preserved in Yangshan region, Haikou. In the background of modern rural construction and tourism development in Hainan Island, it has become a social concern that how to coordinate historic preservation and updating use, finding the right path of local development. In this paper, Boxue vil age is taken as an example, by introducing the process of vil age development planning design with the assistance of a professional team which the author participated in. Learning from other successful models, the vil agers are spontaneously constructing their homeland an ecological community for characteristic agricultural tourism under the premise of protecting traditional vil age style. And the practical significance of this development model vil ages for traditional local volcanic protection and utilization is thought about.
