Supports on the Village Construction：the Social Structure and the Use of Resource

Abstract：The construction of Chinese vernacular settlements originates population structure and ways of utilizing agricultural resources in agricultural society. Live based on the family and production mode of small-scale farming by individual owners are basic characteristics of vil ages in agricultural society. Nowadays traditional villages are disappearing at a rate of nearly 20,000 villages per year. It indicates that the village construction foundation relying on agricultural society is invalid. With the development of contemporary society from industrial to post-industrial and information society, the population structure and ways of utilizing agricultural resources have fundamental y changed. It causes that contemporary vil ages integrate and renew accompanied by breaking the original pattern. Social structure and resource use are two kinds of base of vil age construction. Adapting to contemporary col aborative social structure and large-scale agricultural production, traditional“agricultural-type”vil ages are developing to contemporary"agriculture industrialization-type"vil ages.
